Position Title: Social Worker
Responsible to: Principal or Director of Student Services
General Duties: Deliver individual, group and family counseling and casework services to identified day treatment youth
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintain a log of activities
- Collect data and maintain a file on each student per DJJ mandates
- Demonstrate high expectations for every student.
- Collect and submit requested data, program assessment/evaluations per DJJ guidelines
- Arrange, conduct, and facilitate monthly parent/family meetings.
- Collaborate with the Family Resource and Youth Services Center Director
- Identify community partners and establish working relationships.
- Attend professional development trainings
- Provide or refer student to services and resources to meet all student needs.
- Participate in district sponsored meetings as assigned.
- Assess the students’ physical, social/emotional, and economic needs.
- Provide family assessments as needed.
- Develop an individual treatment plan ITP to address assessed problems.
- Schedule and plan any treatment planning meetings with students and parents
- Monitor targeted students’ attendance, and intervene when necessary to assure regular attendance.
- Establish a desirable working relationship with parent/guardian to assure constructive parental participation and involvement.
- Participate in plan of school wide supervision of students
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all community agencies and their resources.
- Attend and participate in individual supervisory, counselor, and teacher conferences upon request.
- Confer with the principal upon request.
- Respond to students’ crises by working with school staff and outside agencies to administer interventions for:
- Suicide risk
- Physical/sexual abuse, neglect
- Deaths of student, family member, faculty
- Conflict resolution
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work, Guidance Counseling, or School Psychology or related area; or
- Certified School Social Worker
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Guidance Counseling, School Psychology or related area
- 3-5 years of experience working with 14-18 year old adolescents
- Knowledge of high school public education
Terms of Employment:
Compensation established by board approved certified teacher salary schedule each year.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for certified personnel.
