Position Title: RTI BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST
Responsible To: Principal
Basic Function: Support and coach at the school and classroom levels in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Response to Intervention.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists school administrators in implementation of behavior RTI.
- Monitors school and classroom use of behavior RTI for continuous improvement.
- Serves as a member of Student Success Teams (SST), District RTI Advisory, Behavior Interventionist PLCs, and school-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Team.
- Reviews data to ensure interventions match deficit area(s).
- Implements evidence-based interventions/programs with fidelity.
- Assists school and district personnel in adherence to timelines.
- Observes classroom teachers’ implementation of intervention including fidelity of implementation.
- Provides training for teachers and/or paraprofessionals on how to implement evidence-based interventions with fidelity in the classrooms.
- Assists teachers and administrators in maintaining and analyzing on-going progress-monitoring data.
- Facilitates the implementation and reporting of progress-monitoring data including Universal screeners.
- Assists teachers and administrators with the interpretation of data in regards to placement and movement of students within tiers.
- Monitors and reviews individual student behavior RTI records.
- Provides interventions to small groups and/or one-on-one instructional settings.
- Assists with document management of referrals for individual evaluation.
- Communicates needs of the RTI program to the proper personnel.
- Keeps in confidence information obtained in the course of professional service, unless disclosure serves professional purpose or is required by law.
- Serves as a resource for administration and teachers in regards to appropriate and effective interventions and strategies.
- Maintains professional competency through professional learning activities and/or other appropriate professional growth activities.
- Adheres to Professional Code of Ethics as established by the Education Professional Standards Board.
- Attends required behavior training as directed by district office.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years teaching experience
- Approved certification with State of Kentucky
Knowledge Of:
- Research findings and recent trends in behavior RTI
- Proven expertise in implementing positive behavior interventions and evidence-based strategy
- Ability to communicate knowledge effectively to others
- Ability to develop certified and classified staff professionally through effective coaching strategies
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for certified evaluation.
